About Me
An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms. Oxymoron is oxy (“sharp”) and moros (“dull”). Thus the word oxymoron is itself an oxymoron. An oxymoron is used mainly to create humor thus, for example leading an audience watching a play, to think about what’s happening and give them a deeper more meaningful understanding of the text.
I have used the nickname Oxymoron or Oxy since the late 1980’s. I believe that I am an oxymoron. I am both sharp and dull, consistent and inconsistent, organized to a fault but also brutally messy, free spirited although highly grounded. I am laid back but really I am involved. There are many more aspects of myself that I could write about, but I will leave it to the ramblings in this blog. I believe we all have “duality” in our lives, and with these writings I will attempt to assist you and me to embrace, accept, challenge our differences and learn from each other.
